http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_Doctrine

I was listening, for a short period of time, to our local ultra right
wing conservative talk radio station. Most of the time, they just piss
me off but I was listening because it was late at night and they're a
clear channel station so the signal was nice and strong.

Anyway, they were playing the Neil Borts (sp?) show. I hate the guy.

He was ranting and raving about this Fairness Doctrine, which apparently
was in place until the republic controled FCC repealed it in 1987.

In light of Air America's recent bankruptcy, and some recent articles in
a variety of newspapers calling for the reinstatement of the Fairness
Doctrine, it seems that these conservative talk radio hosts are
concerned for their jobs, because they don't do anything to "present
both sides in a fair and honest matter"

Of course, they also claim that all television and news media (aside, of
course, from Fox News) is biased and has a liberal agenda.

I can't see the Fairness Doctrine being reinstated. It would seem to
violate the first amendment.

But i wouldn't complain too much if they did reinstate it :)

I'd love to hear Rush Limbaugh being honest. That'd be a real trip.
