Hey Mike,

What's the ballpark price range you're looking to spend?

A nice line of instruments for the price is the Ibanez Artcore series.

For about $350-400, you could get something like the AF*75 model with a small
little practice amp (5 watter or something good enuff).

The reason I would suggest a model like this is for ease of playability.
There's just no 2 ways about it, (most) acoustics are harder to play than
(most) electrics.

But with these hollowbody Ibanezes, you can sit on your couch, noodle around
and practice and hear yourself perfectly fine without have to be "plugged-in".

I've got a bunch of guitars (Taylor, Martin, Fender, Gibson, Epiphone, ...) and
I've got the Ibanez Artcore AFS78TNBK (in silver). I have to say the Ibanez is
one of my favorites to play. Plus the price is very reasonable and I really
don't care if my 2 year old puts her mitts on it or whatever.

IF you just have to have an acoustic, I would recommend either a Baby Taylor or
Little Martin (300 buck range), or a little higher end: Martin DX1 or Taylor
210/310 series.

I definitely agree with the other poster: Don't go too cheap. If you get a
piece of junk, it'll just discourage you from playing. But don't go overboard,
because you don't want an expensive dust collector just sitting there.

hth,
Brian
