So I'm visiting my folks in a small town outside Ashville NC and ran across this amazing display of a War of the Worlds Invasion - thought the list might find it interesting...

The tripod ship itself was much taller than the house and you can sorta make out the yellow crane in the background holding the main section up in the air. The guys who live here were standing out on the front portch with a sound system making the creepy sound effects from the movie and at different times of the day the crane moved the tripod into different positions (thought I was never there to see them move it). The yard was also covered in debris as if the aliens had just started destroying everything. I am pretty sure the guys in this house were college kids. Very nice display....
