They have had these in Europe (well, at least in Germany) for several 
years.  Many people use them to make sparkling water, which many Germans 
drink like we drink tap water.  Personally, I've been tempted, but I 
think bringing a device like this into my home would compel me to drink 
*way* too much soda...
