This is perfect example of Americans getting wrapped around the axle with the concepts of "winning" and patriotism. The whole situation is simple: Religious zealots want us out of way in the Middle East so they can take it over. This is exactly same problem we have in Korea and Taiwan, it's just that it's communists that want to take over. What makes the Middle East special is that the communist/dictatorial regimes that want control of Korea and Taiwan can be easily attacked which makes standoffs and diplomacy possible. In the Middle East the zealots aren't necessarily aligned with the government. In Afghanistan, for example, they were. In Iraq, they weren't. In Iran they are to a degree. This makes it difficult for us to attack a government and make any dent in terrorism. If you just lay out the options they are: 1.) Get out of the Middle East. 2.) Stay as an occupier. 3.) Stay as a guest. We've been trying #3 and it's not worked too well. Now we're trying #2 and that's not working either. China and India use #1. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:220413 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
