-- Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani has taken the first step in a 2008
presidential bid, filing papers to create an exploratory committee, Republican
sources tell CNN.

He's a Dem isn't he? That means he takes all the anti-Hillery Dems. He's known
for cleaning up 'his house' and is actually world respected, which means we
gain back a lot of international clout except for the Saudis, who he was honest
too. They hate that.

On the other hand, if this article is correct (I've seen the same tech talked
about for a while), then we've got a LOT more oil then them, so screw 'em.

Analysis: Israel sees shale replacing oil

"...It would cost about $17 to produce a barrel of synthetic oil at the Hom Tov
facility, meaning giant profit margins in a world of $45 to $60 per barrel
crude..."

"The largest known oil shale deposits in the world are in the Green River
Formation,
which covers portions of Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. Estimates of the oil
resource in place within the Green River Formation range from 1.5 to 1.8
trillion
barrels. Not all resources in place are recoverable. For potentially
recoverable oil shale resources, we roughly derive an upper bound of 1.1
trillion barrels of oil and a lower bound of about 500 billion barrels. "
