Holy FRAK subversion is a pain in the arse to set up.

Has anyone written a "quick start guide" or something?

Jeez... maybe I'll just buy Visual Source Safe for our department.

I've got SVN installed on a server, I created a repository using
svnadmin, and I set up svnserve to run as a service and started it.

I edited the repository's svnserv.conf file and added some usernames and
passwords...

and then I installed TortoiseSVN on my local machine.. but I can't
figure out where to specify the username/password. Really friggin
obnoxious. The help for svn and for tortoiseSVN is really weak.

i'm frustrated!
