It may be true for you (local laws may override MS policies in the matter)
but here in the States they are not offering out-of-warranty replacements
for any issues.

Believe me, I asked.

Look up "Red Lights of Death" and consider yourself lucky.

There are people on their third, fourth and fifth units.  Many people got
defective units back from service after waiting weeks for it.

If I were you I'd also be quick to buy the extended warranty as well.

As for me I'm seriously considering cutting my losses and dropping the 360
from my stable completely.  Even if I get my unit serviced that serviced
unit only gets a 90-day warranty so I may be in the same boat in several
months.

I really can't stand it when companies don't stand by their products.
