Oh yes..there is the overclocking stuff.
I just don't trust it though.

I know you can get chips and cards to be really stable at higher clock
speeds..but...I just dunno. There have been instances where,
especially for gaming, little inconsistencies are introduced for some
reason with graphics card overclocking. As we started seeing more True
DX9 games on the market, people started getting problems with
Overclocked cards which had previously worked perfectly with other
less demanding titles.

I'm not sure whether Processors will face the same problems, maybe
not...but I just don't trust the overclocking thing. I know it
shortens chip life, and can potentially cause other long term problems
with a system.

doesn't quite back up that the seperate 4 core approach by AMD has
much of a benefit over the Intel Quad Core solution with today's apps.
That's a bit surprising, but as I mentioned in a previous post, I
don't think our apps are really written to take full advantage of
multi-core systems. In fact, I don't even think there are much if any
64-bit apps on the market. Those two technologies- Multi-core
processing and 64-Bit Apps may actually take a few years well before
we start seeing tangible benefits in our daily computing life over and
above being able to encode a video while browsing/playing a game.
