Not sappy, but the John Mayer song "83" from Room For Squares is all about how he wishes he were back in 1983, 6 years old, and running around playing in the backyard. If course a 22 year old wouldn't have been born in 1983, but I like the song. Might be good if your friend is going to use different songs to represent different ages...
