That's pretty much it - right now both systems are selling all available units. It's pretty hard to say what sales will be when supplies are up, but I think it's safe to say that the Wii will probably outsell the PS3 for at least the first six months to a year. I think that the Wii's main problem will be coming up with meaningful gameplay experiences. It really (REALLY) excels at casual gaming and it'll sell for that alone (and probably sell incredibly well) but I think it may also sell primarily as a "second system" (just like the GameCube). "Resident Evil 4" didn't show up until late in the GameCube's life (although it was worth the wait) and I think that the Wii needs something like that. > wife's step-sister works at Target and they have only gotten 2 shipments > of PS3s, totalling 25 units. That's the real success story this year: it's just selling like crazy and there doesn't seem to be a ceiling. The DS is in the same boat as the Wii: really, really good at casual gaming. It's just seems to catch everyone that tries it. I'm hoping that the PSP download service takes off (the first step is to eliminate the need for the PS3 as a conduit). What I'm drooling over is the prospect of playing Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX on the PSP...
