I believe that AppleTalk is a lower-level networking protocol - the
equivalent of NetBUI or TCP/IP.

A web server generally uses TCP/IP - and I'm sure that the Apple server does
(although it may be accessible via other protocols as well).  All web
servers use HTTP as a transport protocol (that's kind of the definition of a
web server).
