I am not sure why that is. Life is very strange that way. All the women I
dated did not do well with mechanical things (except one who was a mechanic
in the Army, and she could cook and clean too).
My mother was smart enough to teach me real life skills like cooking,
cleaning, ironing, doing laundry, sewing and such, and my step-father taught
me the house repair and auto repair parts, so I ended up being pretty well
rounded for domestic chores and household/automotive repair. So between the
two of us, there is pretty much nothing that can't get done by us. And I am
so happy that they did this because it has saved us tons of money in home
repair bills and auto repair bills. And, I did not have to go out looking
for a wife right away to cook and clean since I knew how to do these things,
so I could concentrate on more important things like partying :) I am
fortunate though that my wife can cook and clean with the best of them and
she is a very adept home decorator too. So I keep it all working and she
keeps me fed and my house clean and decorated nice. Pretty good deal. We are
teaching our daughter these things too so that she is not desperate to find
a man to work on her car or her home. And she goes bird hunting with me so
she can get her own food if she needs to. LOL

Why is it that women that are mechanically inclined tend to meet the
men that aren't? I do most of the home improvement projects in our
house. My husband is learning, though - he's gotten a lot more skilled
since I met him. He's capable, but no one ever taught him anything.
And, he's the guy that gets the drywall-finishing jobs. I hate drywall
finishing.
