The current government is run by the Shias and has been ignoring ethnic
cleansing of Sunnis from a large swath of Baghdad.

I don't think our credibility is slipping at all inside Iraq. In fact, some
of the Sunnis are coming to the realization that we are their only chance
for survival, because if we leave the Shiites are going to wipe them out.

I have also heard that some Sunnis are realizing that it was a big mistake
to start a guerilla war against Iraqi Shiites who outnumber them 3-1 and,
since March, have been increasingly using guerilla and terror tactics
against the Sunnis. Sooner or later Iraqis are going to want peace. The only
question is whether they come to that conclusion in a few months, a few
years, or a few decades.

As for getting out, I heard an interesting question posed about Iraq. If we
get out like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi want us to do, and then Iraq (or
the wider Middle East) goes up in flames because we have left a power
vacuum, what do we do then? I have never heard anything even resembling a
strategy from Democrats about how we move forward. All I ever hear is (Monty
Python quote coming), "Run away! Run away some more!".
