Nope, vet just said to wash it out periodically with warm water and soap.
Bout a 1/4" deep, about 2 inches long.  Multiple little ones everywhere,
too.  

Ever see a dog try to walk in those little leather/nylon booties?  My gawd,
it was some fun, wish I had videoed it.  Imagine the Elaine dance, and
you're just about there.
