I guess. Maybe.

Since the sharing is so limited in the first place I can't see anybody
buying a song JUST to share. In other words I doubt that sharing is
actually a selling point for a particular song.

(If the record companies allowed decent sharing - say even a week of plays
or unlimited streaming while in range of the "owner" or something then I
would say that the sharing feature might be a selling point for a song...
but as it is it just isn't.)

Now I DO think that sharing is a selling point for the Zune itself - so, in
that case, the player should come with a warning/disclaimer that
studio-applied DRM may limit features.

Sure - although in this case I'd guess that it will be added. My guess
(nothing more) is that this move by the studios was a surprise to MS and
they simply weren't prepared for it (come on - who really would have thought
that somebody would think that the 3 days, 3 plays policy was TOO LIBERAL!).

I would give the chances that the software will updated to address the
sharing interface issues at about 95%. For the store itself to be updated
to present information about sharing per song I would give only a 10% chance
- rather I think you'll see a general disclaimer placed on the store (and
probably the device itself) that studios may implement restrictions on the
sharing functionality.
