In Documents, when you create a Shared Document Library, one of the
options under "Action" is "Open With Windows Explorer".

This creates a virtual share to which you can
upload/download/add/delete files, just as you would using a "real"
share.

I haven't worked with Workflow yet, but that'll be coming up in our
pilot program I am sure.
