The speaker at my recent vista training actually mentioned autocad as one of
the worst violates of windows coding standards.. it writes all kinds of USER
information to SYSTEM directories like C:\Program Files and to SYSTEM
registry keys like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

He did say he thought they'd fixed it in their latest release though.


Autodesk say they are 'looking into' the Vista Compatibility issue.

some companies aren't as proactive as others.  Autodesk probably figured
they'd have plenty of time before MOST people start upgrading.  Plus, quite
a few changes went into the final vista release candidate that kind of threw
a lot of the software developers for a loop and many of them decided to just
wait for the final release to do their "updates"

So I'm told.
