WHAT!?! You didn't have a government teacher give you the "How to be a millionaire in X years" speech? =] Economics teacher, perhaps? I heard it several times growing up. It it were that easy (or just that hard, I guess) you'd think more people would do it. Guess we're more grasshopper than ant, eh? Still, I'm not big on the Tough Love, Gruss. Love, is good, no doubt, but as you said, people don't know, that they don't know. Thus the whole "ultimate responsibility" schtick, I keep personal. We're all super crazy ass power people, capable of amazing, and frankly, frightening things. Sadly, allot of people don't seem to grok it. It's frustrating trying to hold it against them. I don't mind helping others, in general. Things can be rough. Having a kid has impressed upon me (to touch on something Dana said) how amazingly fucking hard it would be to be a single parent, with a weak/no support system. Crazy hard. I'm lazy, so I like just having some of my tax money go to this stuff. Seems to help balance the killing of kids and whatnot (even though we don't do it on purpose). But it's not really about karma or some such either. Just seems right.
