I don't think I'm going out on a limb in saying that a President who's
presided over a foreign policy disaster, who continues to make the
same mistakes, who is one point above Nixon just before he resigned,
and who's press corps is no longer showing up for Whitehouse press
briefings, is not going to be regarded highly 20 years from now.

All that having been said I'll give him this: he could've succeeded in
spite of himself. It's kinda like your buddy that decides to play his
entire life savings on one hand of blackjack: even if he wins, he's
still an idiot for doing it.

Well, Bush could've won, even though he was still an idiot for doing
it. Had he done things right from Day 1 of the invasion, had he
listened to his generals and finance staff, he just might have pulled
this off.

But I guess the same thing that made him do it in the first place,
also made him ignore the voice of reason.
