had to happen I guess... I've removed the name of the yahoogroup, as
it isn't actually mine... I just moderate.

Subject: MyChurch for your Yahoo group

Hi,

My name is Joe Suh, and I'm one of the people behind MyChurch.org. I
came across your Yahoo group (groups.yahoo.com/group/...) and wanted
to contact you.

We just launched MyChurch.org, and 3000 churches and groups have
already started creating free online communities for their members. I
think the 690 members in your group might be interested in being
introduced to MyChurch.org. Everyone in your group can have profiles,
add each other as friends, send out bulletins, and learn more about
each other.

Would you be willing to post this message in your group:

MyChurch.org is a new and free online community for Christians. It is
a cleaner and better alternative to Myspace.

Churches have customizable profiles, and so do their members.
Register and create a personal profile for yourself, and then add your
friends and church!

Here are some things you can do on MyChurch.org:

- Everyone has their own page. This includes a profile, blog, picture
gallery, and friends list.
- If you go to church, you can join your church's profile
- Church profiles can have a calendar, photo album, group blog,
bulletin board, and classifieds space
- Everyone can have their own URL's, like mychurch.org/AO-Homeschool
- Churches with members get posted on the Google map:
http://www.mychurch.org/church/maps/
- Churches can set up different small groups within the church page,
which act just like this Yahoo group.

If you're not comfortable posting it, would it be ok for me to post it
myself? I didn't want to join your group just to post a single
message, so I wanted to seek your permission and approval first. Feel
free to contact me if you have any questions or would like more
details. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Blessings,
Joe Suh

No enemies had ever taken Ankh-Morpock. Well technically they had,
quite often; the city welcomed free-spending barbarian invaders, but
somehow the puzzled raiders found, after a few days, that they didn't
own their horses any more, and within a couple of months they were
just another minority group with its own graffiti and food shops.
