Hey folks - good news for me, I'm getting back into the development world! Took a job at a place, they don't have a free machine so they're buying one for me. I'm hired as a "Senior Database Developer" but I'm the only programmer on staff.
I was asked the following question: "I need a "wish list" for computer / software configuration" o_O I'm pitching the hardware as either laptop or desktop, laptop with docking station preferable. I'm at a loss on what to ask for software wise beyond the follwing: .. Adobe Dreamweaver and Homesite 5 (included with Dreamweaver) .. Microsoft Visual Studio.NET .. Microsoft Office w/ Outlook .. SQL Server Client Tools + MDAC Update The job includes handling some older ASP and ASP.NET apps. It also includes doing new projects in C#, CF and possibly others.
