The federal investigation was to find the person that leaked Plame's name to Novak, which was Armitage and Fitzpatrick knew that form the very beginning. Are you claiming Libby risked jail to cover up Armitage's role? > I guess I'm curious about your dysfunction though ... is it your view > that the jury who unanimously convicted him are ALL purposely ignoring > the law to pursue a political punishment rather than criminal > punishment? The juror Forman was Russert's neighbor and a writer for the Washington Post. He claimed they all trusted Russert more than Libby. Sounds like Libby just had awful lawyers. They convicted him of lying to cover-up a crime he didn't commit. Why would he do that? > If that's the case then wouldn't you want to rip apart his 11 lawyers > and call for a mistrail due to an incompetent defenese? Because they > picked the jurors ... Exactly. They also claimed he was a scapegoat and the jury believed that. But he wasn't a scapegoat because Armitage was the leaker.
