I grew up on Marvel... but lately I just can't help but feel that DC
is kicking Marvel's ass all over the place.

Marvel really started losing me during House of M when i just couldn't
help but feel that all that had to happen to undo the "massive
changes" were Wanda waving her hands.

Then I got really disgusted when Marvel came out with "The
Illuminati". Let's see... DC comes out with Identity Crisis and
reveals that their top heroes have been harboring a huge secret for
years.

Marvel then comes up with "The Illuminati". A group of their top
heroes that we find out have been harboring huge secrets for years.

I didn't even bother with Civil War. When I read about the
resurrection of the hero that you mentioned, it kind of confirmed that
I was doing the right thing.

The only worthwhile thing coming out of Marvel right now is
Astonishing X-Men, and Whedon's about ready to leave that title.

Since moving to CA back in Sept, I've actually all but stopped
collecting. I do like what's going on in the DC Universe, but money
has been tight. And things like the Marvel Universe being a heaping
pile of suck coupled with "big event" on top of "big event" coupled
with the ridiculous lateness of books (Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine
anyone? All-Star Batman and Robin?)...it was enough that even though
I had to stop for financial reasons... I haven't really missed it or
felt too compelled to try and get back into it.
