I've never gotten in Marvel myself... started with Manga and transitioned to Dark Horse (Concrete, Aliens, Hellboy) and Vertigo. But I do read some DC - Superman and Aquaman are about all but I've been reading them for nearly two decades. I remember really loving the "Death of Superman" plot years ago, but there was no question then that he'd be coming back. I don't know if Marvel's trying to play that this is permanent... but it's not. There's a prediction that even Sylvia Brown could get right.
