During the Nixon era CBS correspondent Daniel Shore did a lot of reporting Nixon didn't like so he asked the FBI to investigate him and dig up some dirt.
Unfortunately the FBI decided to interview Mr. Shore as part of investigation, as well as openly interview his friends, family, colleagues, etc. Of course Mr. Shore, being a reporter, decided to report this. Nixon went into damage control mode, got together a team, and decided they'd spin it as Nixon was considering Mr. Shore for a job and was doing due diligence investigating. Oddly they never came up with a job so the deception wasn't worth much. Soon after, as other events unfolded, 3 articles of impeachment were drafted for Nixon one of which was abuse of power for investigating Daniel Shore. Of course Nixon resigned and life went on. Years later Nixon was on a book tour and ran into Mr. Shore who couldn't resist asking him about the events. Mr. Shore approached Pres Nixon and said, "Mr. President you might remember me but ..." Nixon broke in and said, "Dan! Of course I remember you! I damn near hired you once!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Deploy Web Applications Quickly across the enterprise with ColdFusion MX7 & Flex 2 Free Trial http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/flex2/?sdid=RVJU Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:230160 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
