>From thier Foriegn Policy issues page:

Foreign aid is little more than welfare for nations -- with the same disastrous
effects as domestic welfare programs.
....
If Americans truly want to help other countries, they can best do so not
through failed foreign aid programs, but by improving the U.S. economy, so that
U.S. businesses have funds to invest abroad, and pursuing free trade policies.
As the Congressional Budget Office recently admitted, "Critics rightly argue
that the broad policies of the major Western countries -- trade policies,
budget deficits, growth rates, and the like -- generally exert greater
[positive] influence on the economies of developing countries than does aid."

>The LP, hyper-isolationist? Man, I don't know where that's coming from.
>To be honest open borders is something that I have disagreed with them

I have no problem with the open borders policy. My wife's family were German
Jews who fled Germany in early 20th century. Sealing the border would have
kept them out as they were store keepers in Bavaria. They had little money and
no other skills.

>I know most people don't agree with drug legalization, what I would like
>to know is what you think the solution is. I mean, do you drink
>alcohol?

The solution is education for all ages and treatment instead of incarceration
for users. I would prefer voluntary treatment, but the court could order it.
That would be in the perview of the state to decide.

As for distributors... I lost a close cousin to a heroin hot shot... a bullet
in the back of the head would be fine for me. Stiffer jail terms is acceptable
with all distributors subject to the same sentencing guidelines, regardless of
the class of drug they distributed. Forfiture of ALL assets of the distributor
and the funds from them to fund any treatment programs that may be court
ordered.

I do want to see scientific/medical research on illicit drugs. There is
probably some legitimate medical uses of peyote, marijuana, jimsom weed, etc.

Yes I do drink alcohol, very rarely. I am an extremely ugly drunk. My drink
of choice is mezcal. After that american rum. Barring them, I would distill
my own spirits. As for the difference, different chemical reactions in the
brain. I'm not a pharmochemist, but I know each has different kinky tails that
react in the brain.

I would like to see the BATF abolished and quality of alcohol governed under
public health guideline.
