Yes, we've built a number. General advice: don't skimp on materials. Buy brick rated for heat. If you use a stone counter, seal it. get stainless or aluminum, including all fasteners. make the opening big enough to move a tank around to unscrew it (or better yet, put a BIG tank elsewhere in the yard and run a line to the grill.) season the heck out of the grill itself. give yourself plenty of table/counter space, at least a foot away from the grill. box the inside as well as the outside, so you can keep the inside clean of critters and dirt. have a place for tools, including a standard set of kitchen gadgets, and a place for disposable plates/trays. make the door underneath lockable, and have the starter switch in the lockable area. make sure either the top has a thermometer, or have one handy. make sure there is room to lift the lid without burning anyone or anything behind it (a rail or standoff fence is smart). make sure the footing around the front is clean and level (so you cannot trip).
