Remember the FBI last week had problems because they did not follow up
"emergency" information requests with the needed proof that there was
a grand jury who needed the info?

They've solved that problem going forward.

They now insists they don't need to follow up with that paperwork at
all, if they make the requests orally, and never submit an actual
request (and rely on the requested companies to _voluntarily_ turn
over the information without a formal request.)

That wasn't quite what I was expecting as a fix, but I guess I
shouldn't be surprised.
