Rick Pitino isn't in anyway compared to Adolph Rupp, neither is Joe B Hall. We don't compare them that way.
Kentucky fans weren't as hard on Tubby as the media makes it out to be. The fans that complained the most complained the entire time because they didn't like his style, and didn't think he was a good fit here. We don't compare our football coaches to Bear Bryant either ;) If Donovan takes the Job at Kentucky buying out his contract wouldn't be a problem, it looks like it is only 200k. I'm not sure Florida would match a UK offer. Tubby Smith was the highest paid coach in the NCAA at 2.1 million at Kentucky, and that was the base. After endorsements and everything else it just kept going up. I don't know if he would come, I don't know that I would like him as the coach. I don't know if he would be a winner in the beginning. I think he would be. But I don't know who I would want more. Billy or Rick. John Calipari is another option that might work for us. > -----Original Message----- > From: Chris Stoner [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Friday, March 23, 2007 10:36 AM > To: CF-Community > Subject: Re: NCAA News - Tubby Smith becoming a Gopher > > For full disclosure: I am a huge Florida fan and my opinions are skewed > accordingly. > > I would be very suprised if Billy Donovan left Florida for Kentucky. > He has > a very proactive AD who will pay whatever it takes to keep him, great > fan > support and has Florida playing at a higher level the Kentucky for the > forseeable future.
