Dude, you're taking the whole personal responsibility idea a bit far... I know it's *my* fault for being at a certain place at a certain time... I mean, no one is in control of me but me. Thus, nothing bad ever "happens to me", I bring it all on myself. While I personally kind of subscribe to this belief, it's still pretty silly. In effect, no one is responsible. If it's right or not, the current system holds people responsible for their actions. The cigarette companies did some heinous stuff. Made quite a bit of money off doing it too. I'm with k-dro on this one-- it's too bad the freaking lawyers are not pro bono and whatnot... the money should go to The People, and I would really rather it not go to prevention, (we DO know now), but rather to, I don't know, /something good/. Feeding the hungry! Yeah. I'm a smoker tho, so I'm biased. I hate the new regulations... If I'm a business owner, it's my god given right to do just about anything I want on my own property, if I'm not hurting anyone... course, the lawyers love to find ways of how Smith&Wesson pulled the trigger, so.... YMMV. * * * That's blood money tho, same as the AIDS in the hemoglobin. They owe society, man. No doubt.
