Yeah, but going through remote desktop and having to login all the time take so much time. If I need to examine the security log or something like that I just want to open the event viewer directly and not have to authenticate again. Or if I want to open the PerfMon for several machines at once to get an idea of load. I'd rather just open perfmon from my machine add the counters for the various servers and get my stats. Remote desktop is a hassle when trying to work with multiple systems at once. > Or some people will say i cant run such and such windows program on a > mac.. You could use parallels or bootcamp in a pinch. Wait, you spent all that time saying it couldn't be done, and that you didn't believe it was even possible, and now you say you've tried it? So in the end no matter which way you go there is a big mess to clean up? > Now if you are curious about why I get more done, here is a simple > everyday example. > > Say i am building a web site, I do it all, the code the graphics the > photography, everything. The Window management in Vista is the same as it was in XP, and Windows 95 really. They've added some neat gadgets like the change to alt-tab and the new windows-tab stuff. But the windows still work the same way. It is one of the reasons I prefer the Adobe stuff in Windows over the Mac. And this is something I have major experience in. I laid out newspapers in PageMaker and Indesign on a Mac for a long time. It was OS9 but in that world I have seen any major changes in the way that stuff works. I've done Photography in windows for years. I've not had a chance to benchmark the processing times, but it wouldn't be a fair trial until the new adobe stuff comes out that is actually compiled for the intel chips. > Now on my mac I just open all the programs up, since a mac doesnt use > memory the same way as a pc I can have everything I want open and it > doesnt kill my machine, so my work flow is much more graceful moving from > app to app. Especially now that I have gotten into photography, there is > no way my windows puter could have kept up and its nothing for a mac. This is something I don't understand, how does the Mac manage the memory any different ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| ColdFusion MX7 and Flex 2 Build sales & marketing dashboard RIAâs for your business.
