No, the French seem to hate everything not "Continental" French.

My grandfather, who had spoken Acadian French as his primary language for
nearly 50 years went to Paris to help rebuild the rail system in the country
after WWII. He barely spoke English at this time. While trying to do his job
and help these people he was told by a French citizen, in perfect England
accented English that he should stop speaking French because he spoke like a
child. He immediately returned to Louisiana and never spoke French again until
he had senile dementia and forgot how to speak English. He even said that the
French couldn't even do socialism right, which was high critisism from him, a
socialist/communist organizer in Louisiana.

I know others who had similar experiences reaching back 75 years. That is one
reason CODIFIL teaching parisian french in Louisiana was met with significant
resistance in the 80s.
