I agree - this isn't a scam.

Although in some ways it is "on the fence" - they do claim (if I remember
correctly) to tell you how to protect yourself.  Since they clearly cannot
demonstrate any real danger a case could be made.  You might also be able to
make a case for the sale of known false information - but I doubt that would
ever fly in a court.

It's just too easy to claim that this is what you believe.  In that case
it's really just sleazy.

If (and this is really unlikely considering historical evidence) the sellers
really do believe that they're helping... well, then it's just plain sad.
