Hi, I work as a single developer in a small IT company, who is planning to grow over the next couple of months, before we get to big I'd like to start implementing some best practices for the way we develop. I'm thinking of starting to use SCRUM and start Unit testing, full Object Orientated design for all projects. Has anyone gone through this kind of process where they have tried to implement a new set of practices, did you just start all new projects in this way or was it more gradual. Or did you just start with internal projects before working on client projects? Was there a increase in project time-scales, I need to have an idea so I can sell these concepts to my manager, who is mainly interested in getting things completed on time and quickly. I want to be able to show that by implementing these practices, while they may take slightly longer to get started the quality of software is far better and there is less time spent fixing bugs which could have been caught during development if we implement (how many times can I write implement) these best practices. Anyone got any ideas of suggestions, they'd be really appreciated.
