Yeah - I had to do the same with many of the 501c3's that I worked with but others didn't ask for a thing. Like Randy said - it's really more for their taxes, not yours - I suppose it really depends on how well managed the group/place is. Maybe this one is trying to get their ducks in a row for some reason.
