That is what I'm saying. The article made it sound like it was a known
thing in this country that the word isn't used and its primary meaning
was a racial slur.

They make it sound like this word has fallen out of usage in American
culture. This particular article isn't just talking about black culture,
or female culture, or black female culture. It is speaking generally
about overall American usage of a word that until this week I wasn't
aware of being offensive.
