What if they guy had two guns drawn and had already killed 5 people before
you realized what was going on, and bullets were flying past you while your
classmates are diving for the ground and throwing desks up to block the
bullets?

Then what, would have been able to skillfully disarm the individual, or
would you have just made for a better target?
