I still love my CrystalTech.com dedicated box. The base box is great for basic sites (it's a fast Celeron with 512 meg of RAM and an 80 Gig disk). Windows is $80/month and Linux is $50 - these prices are for dedicated hardware (and they're cheaper than for many shared VPS accounts). Lots of free software and extras. I've had my box (actually an older box -the newer plans, for the same money, are much better boxes) for over two years and have never had any real problems. I can't actually remember any downtime.
