I am not looking to be a design expert. We all know that back-end
programmers and design experts are professionals in their own right. I just
want a good understanding of good design so that I can create some descent
looking work. Currently when I pick up a side project, I have to pay someone
to do the design, and the good ones are pretty expensive, as they should be.
If I can create something myself that is pleasing to the client I can avoid
spending the $$ for a designer and get more practical experience. Of course
if they want something super spectacular I will call one of my contacts and
get them to do it.
