There is another question, when dealing with adults, did that person do
everything they could from preventing the mental harm being done?

Is it even a question for our courts? Should it be dealt with there?

I think there is a difference when you are dealing with minors, but I think
the parent is just as responsible as the person chatting with them. In the
event that the person on the other end isn't a predator, and thought they
were talking to an adult, then you can't really blame anybody.
