Bull pucky.

Very few thought he had them. Some said he might. The Italian letter was 
so suspect that British papers turned it down as a forgery and wouldn't 
print about it.  yet, it proved what Bush wanted to hear, real or not. 
Most including the IAEA said there was no evidence of WMD other than the 
reciepts for those weapons the USA sold to Sadam during the Iraq - Iran 
war.  He was bluffing (both the West and Iran), and didn't want to 
appear to be pushed around by the West.  We had far more evidence of 
WMDs in North Korea, Pakistan & India prior to their announcements.  The 
WMD excuse holds no water. It was a political hot point in the wake of 
9/11 and the bush administration used it to their advantage.
