That is pretty good, something I could've used when I was younger.
Something it doesn't address though is the lifestyle you want to have
or at least the minimum lifestyle you're willing to have.

For example, when I was 20 I could sleep on a dirty floor and share a
bathroom with 5 people no problem.  Now I want my own potty and my own
room.  I find that as I get older I have a decreasing tolerance for
being uncomfortable.

Therefore tops on my list is financial security (which explains why
I'm always freaking out about any threat to my savings).

So, for me, it's more what will allow me to save enough AND live the
lifestyle I want today, rather than what I love to do.  Sad, but
reality.

Over the weekend my wife and I were remarking that her Grandparents
have been retired for 25 years!  25 years with NO income.  That's a
lot of savings unless you want to live like a pauper.
