I did close to 20 years as a heavy metal singer. I wouldn't give that up for
anything. The lessons that I learned were invaluable.

They're missing out on all of that

Oh come on, who of us wouldn't do the same?? Seriously, many great people
never get discovered, and part of it is the music industry's focus on looks.
Melinda is an amazing singer, who cares if she doesn't have a neck?? As for
the comment that she has no stage presence, that's just absurd. There's a
reason everyone thought she was a lock for the finals and it certainly
wasn't for lack of talent or performance skill. The reason she *didn't* make
the finals seems obvious to me...people just didn't worry about her, so they
didn't feel the need to vote all out. Everyone thought the fight would be
between Jordan and Blake, so they more likely came out in force for them.
Had she been in the bottom two at some point, people might have put more
effort into voting for her. But looking like a shoe-in for the finals...on a
show like this, it can be deadly.
