Great stuff. I particularly like this part, too: "I cannot emphasize enough the meaninglessness of most of the media coverage. it is not that it is inaccurate, but it lacks perspective and objectivity. If you could see the streets here and talk to the people that live in them, you would understand why another country might fork over some resources to help out despite our reasons for invasion."
The story you rarely hear in the media is the compassion that individual soldiers on the ground have for the local population who are suffering the effects of the struggle.
