"Missiles that may or may not exist." Come on, read the news. Iran has
missiles, DPRK has missiles. Both are working on longer-range missiles. Both
are working on nukes. More importantly, both hate the U.S. and Western
civilization on ideological (and theological) grounds.

It is much more reasonable to fear a missile from a completely nuts regime
like Iran or DPRK over a thuggish but rational regime like Russia. Russia's
move is clearly defensive in nature- driven in part by paranoia, in part by
domestic political concerns, and in part by Putin's desire to restore
Russia's prestige in international affairs. Remember, this missile was
several years in development, so it's not like they just decided yesterday
to build this thing. For all we know, they started this program during the
Clinton administration, maybe even Bush Sr.
