Aren't truly "Vista approved/certified/AOK" applications *not* supposed to be able to write to the registry?
I thought that was supposed to be the huge big thing that Vista introduced (and part of the issue with getting apps certified). Apps are required to install in a non-registry-writing-to-way. thusly would still operate after a roll-back.
