Immediately, if not sooner, buy a cover for it.

Most time damage on grills is caused by rust, caused by direct rain
and water pooling.

(it may be "stainless", but not all the connectors are)

Next, wipe it down really well after each use (if possible). grease
and grime are icky on stainless.

After getting it home, tighten ALL of the connectors.

Great grill - we just got one at my sisters a few weeks ago.
