perhaps Anglicans think they are Catholics. Although my mother was Anglican and she didn't. But ok.
A Catholic however knows that you can't be Catholic if you don't believe in the pope. I say this mind you as someone that was educated in a very conservative Catholic environment (convent) but does not believe in the pope. So I am not being dogmatic -- just informing you as to what the dogna *is.* Anyone who does not believe in the pope is not Catholic. Ask the pope. I know it sounds like nice work if you can get it, but that is what is.
