I think you (and your wife) probably know that missing those days won't actually affect your daughter's education. That said the sentiment is noble. I would suggest speaking with the teacher: she may be able to provide some worksheets or activities that you can do with the kid while away. At kindergarten age you should also be able to discuss the issue with your daughter. We've been lucky: my son LOVES school and because of that his sister does as well. She's starting kindergarten this year (she was doing preschool last year) and he'll be in third grade. She's LOVING the fact that she's going to go to the same school as he is now (and since the school is open-concept there's a good chance they'll interact). You really have to gauge your child: if they don't like school that's going to be a problem. If they like school then missing a few days may seem more like a punishment than anything else. ;^) Jim Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Deploy Web Applications Quickly across the enterprise with ColdFusion MX7 & Flex 2 Free Trial http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/flex2/?sdid=RVJU Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:238367 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
